MARK RODGERS,
STORIES AND WHISKEY
Whisky, Uisce Beatha, or the ‘water of life’ is not just a drink, it is woven into every layer of Irish culture, traditions and our way of life. The sipping of whisky while sharing stories, is a sensory pleasure passed down from our ancestors, a valuable treasure that serves as an ancient antidote to the speed and stress of modern life.
TIME WELL SPENT…
ON THE CAUSEWAY
The Giants Causeway at the right time of the day transcends tourism and becomes something surreal. The raw beauty of the landscape is matched only by the emotions you get to feel deeply for this place and its’ people. The impact of our story and our love for this place and each is special. It’s about a race of people that age wearied and time could only define. It forces you to ask questions of yourself you forgotten you needed the answers too! Nowhere else and none else has an impact like the Giants Causeway and its’ people
TIME WELL SPENT…
AT CARRICK-A-REDE
Carrick a Rede is the Ireland you imagine in your minds eye before you travel and the story of our families here stirs the soul and fires the imagination. Grit, determination and courage matched only by the love of your family and the basic need to provide, forged a race of people whose story deserves to be shared by the luckiest few. Limited to a handful of companies and delivered for their esteemed guests this is a tourism experience in its’ purist form.
TIME WELL SPENT…
AT DUNLUCE CASTLE
Dunluce Castle is simply our most historically significant site and because the walls can’t speak then I will to tell the marvellous story of survival, an ability to choose wisely and a uncanny neck of staying one step ahead when the time was right. “Ever ready” is more than a family motto it is a mindset that created the Earls of Antrim and this iconic ruin bears witness to their longevity and their descendants in the modern day.
TIME WELL SPENT…
AT GLENARM CASTLE
It is both an honour and a privilege to be afforded permission to bring my guests to the family home of the 15th Earl of Antrim and enjoy private guided tours of the castle and the walled gardens set deep in the Glens of Antrim in the village of Glenarm. The setting is stunning and the insights deeply personal and insightful a perfect way to complete a journey of discovery about the County in the home of the Antrim family !
“Mark Rodgers...I am still not fully convinced he is a real person. He is the rarest kind of guide, someone who genuinely is the part rather than playing it. His love for his home and his craft translated beautifully to all of us and I think about home often. He is truly one of a kind!”
